How do you approach therapy? In other words, What are theories/techniques used for helping individuals heal from past experiences and trauma? This is important because if the therapist's theoretical foundation is to help people using psychoanalysis and delving into their unconscious mind, this might not be how you want to heal from your past and it may not be the most effective for you.
Perhaps you are a woman of color with certain aspects of your identity that need to be incorporated into therapy, and in that case, you might prefer an individual with more of a multicultural or feminist approach.
